“Residents of Boulder County have a great opportunity available for their children with the proposal to establish a new tuition-free K-12 charter public school, Ascent Classical Academy, planning to open in the fall of 2019.

The Boulder Valley School District agrees it does not currently offer this type of school and it will be a unique option for families. Several of the top 10 public schools in Colorado follow a classical, liberal arts model, which in our case is a low-technology approach to forming young people with a strong core curriculum using the Great Books, a small K-12 community, direct teacher-led instruction, and a focus on developing good character and virtue, which includes things like courage, prudence, responsibility, friendship and, yes, even student uniforms.”

Community that values diversity should welcome Ascent charter school
