Good Morning, BVSD Board,
My name is Katie —— and I am a CU Boulder graduate (go Buffs!). Living, working, and attending school in Boulder taught me the value of hard work as well as respect for diversity – how important it is to care about people, regardless of age, gender, race, abilities, religious/political beliefs, life choices, or financial status. These are values I’ve held to as I’ve moved away from Boulder and started a family of my own.
My children currently attend Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County, and I am proud to say that its values are strong: Our children are taught how to work hard as well as to respect themselves, their families, teachers, peers, and community. From everything I’ve experienced, seen, heard, and read, Ascent treats everyone with incredible respect, regardless of their age, gender, race, abilities, religious/political beliefs, life choices, or financial status.
Our school is surrounded by teachers, administrators, families, and communities working to grow all of our students into kind and respectful adults. Please give the families in Boulder County the same opportunity to thrive as my children are fortunate to have. Please vote Yes on Ascent.
