MYTH: ACAF Only Has 30% of Their Projected Enrollment from Families Within BVSD Boundaries
FACT: WRONG. ACAF currently has over 630 letters of intent and almost 50% come from BVSD zip codes.
From experience, once a contract is finalized and a location announced, enrollment will increase and localize.
ACAF did make BVSD aware it had interest from a broad area, centered in eastern Boulder County. ACAF submitted a request to BVSD on June 5, 2018 asking it to consider allowing the school to work with the state charter school authorizer, which had the benefit to BVSD of not requiring local taxpayers to fund out of district children. BVSD declined to allow ACAD to work with the state insisting it work with BVSD as community charter school.
